Would love to see the 4th generation of Taix open a restaurant just like the original. Hopefully it too would have lines around the block like the first. On an industrial street with large family style wooden tables serving big bowls and plates of simple country French food. Yum, big bowls of Pea Soup, fresh salad, big plates of chicken and delicious thick french fries, ending with bowls of oranges and apples. Perfection!

Five Stars for Monica and the TAIX Team! I recently hosted my very first benefit Creative HeARTs for Horses event at TAIX, and I'm absolutely blown away by the outstanding service from Monica, and her entire team. From the bartenders to the staff helping with setup and even breaking down the room afterward, everyone went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Monica's "over the top" customer service truly made us feel at home, and the entire staff showed genuine care for our cause and our community in Echo Park. We cannot thank them enough for their support--this level of hospitality is rare! If you're considering hosting an event, I highly recommend TAIX. We look forward to many more events here and can't wait to share how wonderful it is to celebrate at TAIX. Love you guys! LA Heart for Horses, Inc.

Went New Year's Eve and simply had great food and great service. Our waiter was terrific recommending alternate bottles of wine when the one we ordered ran out with specific details allowing us to choose wisely. I've never had better service at Taix.

My 1st dinner at Taix was in Nov 1994 for my 16th birthday -- a treat from my dad. I have since been going back for more birthdays, Thanksgivings, hosting out-of-town guests, etc. What is the most surprising is that the food quality (taste, recipes, etc.) has stayed the same. It's still as delicious as the 1st day I visited. I do miss Pierre, but I guess we have to give the young blood a chance :). This year I went back for another birthday -- the food did not disappoint. I finished an entire tureen of Split Pea soup on my own (of course!) I also had the Niçoise salad which was crazy delicious with the raw bell peppers (I wasn't sure if I'd like it with raw bell peppers, but I did). My husband had the Escargots de Bourgogne & Trout Almondine -- he said both were delicious. We will definitely be returning again soon. In an age of outrageous restaurant prices, Taix has been conservative in their pricing, which allows us to keep returning. I've been a patron now for 30 years and I hope to keep enjoying Taix for several more decades. Valet parking is available for a small fee, otherwise there's street parking. Thank you Monica for your help :-)

Did not disappoint.. our server was, no disrespect because mans was on it w the service and a pro, but he can only be described as Lemony Snicket esque, like if Dracula had an assistant idk, which added to the entire experience of like stepping into a time capsule of a restaurant. The steak frites is obviously a classic go to and they know how to crank it out proper. Honestly the ambiance is mostly why I come here, it's got the style and features of a place that feels like expensive fine dining but whatever that must've been in the 60s. No funny shit just bc the spot had an old timey feel but it was really like titanic passenger looking people at all booths around me too, lot of pearls and stuff like that sweet lil old lady's w ancient dudes in blazers

I've been coming here for many years. I am a second generation patron, my mom has been coming here for decades. I really enjoy the beef dishes as well as the soups and salads. I've been meaning to try the other desserts but the chocolate mousse has a forever place in my heart. Service has been a little inconsistent but more good than bad. I've gotten exceptional service and so so and slow service. I've had really attentive waiters and waiters who barely speak. This does not take away from the food or ambiance. I really enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant. It's decadent, hardy and beautiful. This is a wonderful place for date night; birthdays or other celebrations. I see myself as a forever patron and am happy this restaurant has been open for so long.
